Jo Gaskell is BACP accredited (2003) and UKCP registered.
My name is Jo Gaskell. I am a BACP accredited (2003) and UKCP registered (2004) Integrative Psychotherapist. I abide by the BACP and UKCP code of ethics.
I have over 14 years experience of working with adults, young people and children. I see people Short-term, for between 6 and 12 sessions, or Long-term for more in depth work, which may be for a number of months or years.
I provide a safe and confidential space in which people of all ages can express their feelings, and talk about any difficulties that they are experiencing. Rather than giving advice or providing answers, my skill is to help and support people in a non-judgmental way, to find their own answers and deepen self-awareness. When I am working with children and young people, I have toys and art materials available to them, as this can help them to show how they are feeling.
I trained at The Minster Centre where I was awarded a Diploma and MA in Integrative Psychotherapy in 2000. Between 2004 and 2006 I attended a Conversion Course for Integrative Child Psychotherapy at The Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education. As well as running my private practice, I also work as a Psychotherapist and Counsellor in Primary schools and a charity that offers bereavement counselling to children and young people.
I am an experienced supervisor for Psychotherapists and Counsellors who are working with adults, young people and children.
I have experience of working with the following issues:
Anxiety, Abuse, Adoption, Bereavement and loss, Behaviour difficulties, Career and work issues, Depression, Disability, Eating disorders, Education issues, Health issues, Identity problems, Infertility, Learning difficulties, Obsessions, Premature birth, Parenting issues, Relationship problems, Stress, Self-esteem, Trauma.
