My name is Hanna Kotava. As a TA therapist I draw on the approaches that best suit the issues that clients bring into the therapy room. I work through relational therapies with clients. I am member of UKCP and EATA and I work both in English and Russian.
I aim to provide an empathic, supportive space where clients can open up and feel seen and heard for who they truly are. While counselling helps clients to process difficult or painful thoughts and feelings, I believe that therapy can also focus on the potential of my clients. I work with them to identify and draw on their inner resources to live a fuller, more satisfying life. I may use CBT to help clients identify patterns in their thoughts and behaviours, Transactional Analysis to help clients manage their relationship in a healthier way, and mindfulness to help tame anxious responses. My approach is tailored to the individual client.
With background as Fitness Coach I bring my understanding of body and spirit to psychotherapeutic interactions. I understand the internal and external pressures people can put on themselves, which can lead to unhelpful or damaging coping strategies. I work to identify healthier ways of managing emotions and stress. I also specialise in anxiety, anger management, relationships and have a special interest in self-esteem issues.
